Located off a side street in Waikiki, Sam's kitchen is a funky open air establishment specializing in plate lunches. We went for an early dinner and waited about 10 minutes for our order. You have your option of chicken, beef, shrimp and fish. We ordered the garlic chicken plate with rice for $9. The flavour of the chicken was one of the best we had on Waikiki and would definitely go back. You are paying for the quality of the meat and flavour. The size is about half your usual lunch plate and doesn't include macaroni salad. If you are hungry, you will likely need to have two orders. I would return to Sam's Kitchen again, but this place should really be ranked $$ because of the size of the orders. Kudos for the BYOB option.

Such an amazing place!! Very funny atmosphere and delicious food. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the portion sizes are on the smaller side. I tried their garlic shrimp with rice and it was divine! Plus their homemade pinapple tea is super refreshing! Definitely stop by!

Staff and service is great! I am sad I didn’t get to finish my food from being so full about halfway through my meal. I think about it still - 3 days later. This is the best place in the Waikiki walking area to get spicy garlic shrimp and beef. Hands down it was so good! If you can’t drive up to the north for the shrimp trucks, I promise this is the best alternative. 👍👍👍

OMG AMAZING when I go back to Hawaii this will be my first stop for food it was so good I never knew I can love shrimp and rice so much the rice compliments the shrimp so well I first got the original shrimp and then when I went back my second time before leaving I got the spicy shrimp the spicy shrimp was was pretty good but I preferred the garlic shrimp which was just right and seasoned to Perfection I couldn't ask for anything better everything just mailed it in my mouth o yes in the lemonade the lemonade was lovely and the tea they actually give you samples of both to figure out which one you want which was pretty cool it's surrounded by a lot of shops and you will almost miss it if you're not paying attention when I was driving there I'm past it two times there is a parking garage across the street that you can park in and it's about a 7 minute walk to the restaurant but it's really nice and cozy outdoor place very small but the food has big flavor the workers were kind and accommodating and explained everything thoroughly

Great prices, amazing food and friendly staff! Well worth dropping in to say aloha and get some great food!! The beef was great! Really juicy with lots of sauce underneath!
